Idea’s by themselves aren’t interesting.
It is the execution that’s the deal maker to any idea – good, bad or average.
Derek Sivers has a great way of explaining this:
- Let’s imagine two columns – one for ideas and another for execution
- There is a number value to the strength of both the idea and it’s execution (Eg: An awful idea is valued at -1, and if there is no execution of the idea it is valued at 1$)
To make a business, you would need to multiply the idea with it’s execute.
A great idea without any execution is just you – it values at the worth of the idea alone. In this case that would be at a value of 20*0$ = 0$.
But the money maker idea lies in executing a great idea. The highest value in both the idea and the execution.
Bottom line – Ideas in solitary are not interesting. Execution is the game changer.
