A home carved from the toughest rocks – Poem

Strange,
How quick things change
One moment you want the world
The next you know
The world isn’t what you thought it was

It snuggles, in the home held in your arms
A sanctuary, where I let all my fears go
Where you make me better
Where I may have inspired you
to swim in choppy waters and more

Sometimes when I felt low and small
Thoughts of life with you
Made me stand brave and tall

The words I said will haunt for eternity
I held out for things that did not matter
For much longer than I should have cared

I may not play well, the music I set out to learn
But I carved a shining space for us
On the toughest of rocks
