I always remember the smells
Damp, dusty, fuel, food, river, perfume
Of cities and streets
Every place, a signature
Sometimes I hold a moment, etch it in memory
And wonder if I come back, would it have changed
From here to the next
Every space I leave
Is that last place I’d have loved
