Lullaby

Part of my daily routine during annual summer holidays is sharing bedtime with my nieces.

Many unforgettable memories are made at the end of the day, where we swap stories and lie in wake of boundless imagination.

Hush now little one
Lay your head down with the sun
May this lullaby keep you cozy
Until the sandman comes calling

Beams of love from above
Sweep in the window
To tuck you in tonight
Tuck you in warm and tight
And travel around this room
Morrow is in bloom
Let the stars and the moon
Be your nightlight

And take the captains hand
Sail away into dreamland
Where skies are paved in rainbows
Above oceans that flow choppy chocolate browns
Where sandcastles stand tall
And gumdrops fall
From cotton candy clouds

When you sail on dolphins
Rescue little turtles
Hear of golf ball comedies
And dive deep into endless worlds

Please play in pools and puddles
Cherry coke bubbles
Grow out of tree branches like mangoes and apples
Sit by tummyache lake
And catch yummy fish with gummy worms
For gummy bears

So child cuddle up beneath your blankets and sheets
Rub those glassy eyes that count jumping sheep
Have a wondrously wonderful sleep
And I’ll see you in the morning

Good night my loves
